White Rose:
Placed among thousands of names, etched into black polished stone, a simple floral tribute of remembrance for all those that lost their lives in two separate events: The September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States that killed 2,977 people, and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed 6. The National September 11 Memorial & Museum is located at the World Trade Center site, the former location of the Twin Towers destroyed during the September 11 attacks. It is operated by a nonprofit institution whose mission is to raise funds to continue exploring 9/11, documenting its impact, and examining its continuing significance. The Memorial Museum tells the story of 9/11 through media, narratives, and a collection of monumental and authentic artifacts, presenting visitors with personal stories of loss, recovery, and hope. The site is a humbling experience—well worth the visit.
