Washington D.C., at Night:
I have lost count of the numerous times I have walked the National Mall and photographed its many memorials and monuments. They are majestic by day, and even more dramatic when floodlit at night. However, everyone visiting the capital seems to have a similar idea of shooting its streets and attractions under neon or floodlight.  It frankly draws as many tourists after dark as it does during the day! Despite a strong urge to stay in bed, this trip, I decided to photograph the capital while it sleeps.
One of the main advantages of shooting along the National Mall in the early hours; these iconic monuments remain open to the public. So, pick a cold night (to dissuade other tourists), and walk the city between midnight and sunrise; you could come away with some incredible, dramatic, images—without the hordes of sightseers constantly stepping into frame.
